Fuel filters

Fuel filters are an essential part of your boat's system, designed to protect carburetors, fuel injectors and the rest of your engine. Fuel filters should be replaced as part of a regular maintenance service. We recommend replacing your fuel filter at the start of the season.

Fuel filters vary depending on several factors, including:

• type of fuel they are designed to filter (gasoline or diesel)
• filter style (cannister, cartridge, inline)
• filtration level (the size of particles the filter is designed to catch)
• flow rate (how much fuel the filter will flow, measured in gallons per hour -GPH)
• whether it is a water separating filter or just a particulate filter
